Police said that the husband
of popular TV actress and
Parliamentarian Upeksha
Swarnamali has been
ordered released on bail by
the Gangodawila Magistrate ’s
Court. Accordingly he has
been released on a cash bail
of Rs.2500 and a personnel
bail of Rs.100, 000.
UNP MP Upeksha
Swarnamali, popularly
referred to as ‘Paba’, had
received medical treatment
at ward No.18 of the Sri
Jayawardenapura General
Hospital following some sort
of physical assault on
February 16.
Meanwhile her husband,
Mahesh Chaminda who had
been suspected of attacking
the actress had evaded the
police but surrendered
himself to the Mirihana
Police the day before yesterday (February
21).
